"I've been asked to share what I did to get a few car dealerships to do the personalization candles and OAMS.
I ordered one of each OAM gels that are available, one candle and the sample cubes for the other candle scents. I did this mainly because carrying too many products would be distracting and the OAMS were easier and less likely to be damaged. I printed off all the information from the back office that I needed - pricing, sample label, etc and placed everything into a rolling tote. I went to 4 dealerships initially and got orders from two. Later went to another and got that one too.

I went in to each dealership and ask for the person in charge of advertising. ( Don't go at lunch time or closing time.) I said a short prayer before I went that I wouldn't get "shot down" and would be able to give my presentation. The first dealership after I asked for the advertising person, I said, "I'd like to talk with you about advertising your dealership" He said, "We have one person that takes care of all that". I said, "well, this isn't newspaper, radio or any traditional advertisiing so would you just let me show you what an awesome product I have to offer" He laughed and invited me into his office. Pays to be a little persistent. (I took a deep breath here) Anyway, as I walked in and he began to sit down, I started pulling out my OAMS, putting them opened on his desk and letting him smell them and telling him about how awesome they were for taking out bad odors and leaving a great fragrance and that our company had just come out with the personalization program and they could put a car, their logo or "his" picture on these and give them out for a promotion or with every new car sold. Without exception, each person was "blown away" by this new innovation that they had never heard of or seen and most were excited to do this. The first two bought 50 OAM gels from me (also in the conversatons, something came up about sprays and I sold a 10 of those too). When I ordered this first personalized order, I ordered, for me, an extra personalized OAM gel and a candle so that I'd have an actual one to show others. The next one to purchase also purchased 50 OAM gels and when I returned with his order (I had made a candle for his business also), I showed him the candle and he was so impressed her ordered 50 candles too. Once one dealership saw what another dealership had done, the idea was really more impressive and they'd ask, "what fragrance and how many did ____ order?" Too funny.
