Treat your business like a business to be successful. Schedule time each week for working on your business without interruptions. Spend some time establishing relationships and following up with leads. Give extra service and time, and people will become new or repeat hostesses and customers.
Maintain an address book of past customers and hostesses to help you keep in touch. Use cards, newsletters, or e-mails to inform clients of monthly specials, new products, and new catalogs. Mention new hostess specials, incentives, or challenges. If your company isn’t currently sponsoring one of these, simply make up your own. :D Promote your newsletter at your home shows/events to gather names, emails, etc. to help with follow-up and great customer service.
Keep notes about your clients to help you when you are following up. Remember their favorite product or special requests they may have made and jot a personal note on your monthly newsletter telling them if their products is on sale that month. Remember them on their birthdays and/or anniversaries by offering a special month long discount.
Don’t forget to follow-up with anyone who has said maybe, sometime, or seemed interested at the show but did not book. They may very well decide to have a show at a later date. If potential hostesses say no to a home show, be sure to offer them the opportunity of a catalog show. People are so very busy these days that this may very well work out better for them, and you’ll never know unless you ask.
